UAFP January Information – Elections, Meetings, and More

Dear Colleagues,
We hope the semester has started well and you all stay safe this wintry weekend. 


In this month’s email, we include information on:
1) Elections Committee Update
2) New Member Meeting
3) Website and Email Reminder
4) Important Dates


1) From the Elections Committee:
On Monday, January 28th at 6:50pm, the UAFP Elections Committee sent out an email with a plethora of information. If you have not seen the email, please check you junk or spam folder for this important email.

As a reminder, the key dates for the elections are:

Feb 23 – Nominating Petitions due by midnight
Early March – Candidate platforms circulated
Late March – Zoom meet-the-candidates event/s
April 4-8 – Elections will be held by secret ballot. The candidates who receive the majority of votes cast for each contested position will win. If no candidate wins a majority, run-offs will be scheduled.

Meanwhile: Have questions or an idea you’d like to share in person? The Elections Committee will be having a “Fall in Love With Your Union” virtual brown bag event on February 14. We’ll send around a Zoom link and agenda next week. You may also contact the election committee at: uafpelections@gmail.com.

2) We will be hosting a new member meeting on February 28th at 12:10 (Pace’s “common hour”).

April 1 – Senior Adjunct Status (20, 25, 30 year) Application Deadline
April 1 – Income Replacement Spring Semester Application Deadline
May 15 – Summer 1 Semester Tuition Remission Application Deadline
Ongoing – Conference Presentation Application
